How often do you need to clean your chimney?

Chimneys should be swept annually. This is to remove soot blockages and built up creosote from the chimney liner, firebox, smoke chamber and damper. If your chimney is left unswept and restricted it can produce dangerous gasses. The smallest accumulation of creosote can potentially cause a chimney fire, can also reduce the draw of the fire and reduce efficiency.

DO NOT ignore this. DO NOT leave it until next year or the year after.

The comments we hear are very much consistent in that ‘we haven’t used our stove much it will be ok’.
